Spring School 2012

The 2012 CCIBA Spring School will be held from Monday 10 – Friday 14 September at the Department of Visual Arts, Stellenbosch. It once again offers the general public access to the infrastructure and teaching resources of the department through a number of affordable short courses in a variety of arts disciplines.

In order to ensure quality instruction, workshops are taught by experienced South African arts practitioners. The workshops focus on technical demonstrations, lectures and practical work. All the courses are introductory, but are also suitable for arts practitioners who wish to become acquainted with a new discipline. There are about 10 participants in each course which ensures special tuition.

Each course will span five days and the course fee includes more than thirty hours of teaching and practical work. On the Friday there will be an exhibition of the work completed during the course. Friends and/or family can then join us for a glass of wine. At the end of the Spring School each participant will receive a Certificate of Participation, endorsed by the Department of Visual Arts of Stellenbosch University.

All the courses will be taught at the Visual Arts Building in Victoria Street, Stellenbosch. A number of guest houses offer reduced rates for participants from far. Alternative arrangements for accommodation can also be made by the department.
