Graflit: Graveyard Literature in Black & White, Official Launch and Exhibition

Graflit: Graveyard Literature in Black & White, a new anthology of contemporary South African graphic literature was launched at the Youngblood Gallery last week Thursday with an exhibition of work from the publication. The launch was well attended and included speeches by Mamba Media Project Coordinator and Managing Director Craig Nadelman, Graflit Coeditor and Head of the Comic Art Unit at the CCIBA Andy Mason, and Art South Africa Editor Ashraf Jamal.

Featured artists in the publication include Alastair Findlay, Alexander Gilfillan, Brandan Reynolds, Braunwin le Fleur, Chip Snaddon, Daniël Hugo, Dathini Mzayiya, David Blaine, Denise Dorrance, Jean de Wet, Luke Molver, Lwazi Kunene, Mogorosi Motshumi, N.D.Mazin, Rayaan Cassiem, Roberto Millan, Ryan Ross Jales, Saaid Rahbeeni, Sebastian Borckenhagen, Sibaphiwe Matiyela, Sonwabile Maqwatini, Su Opperman and Thapelo N.Molema.

GRAFlit was published by the Centre for Comic, Illustrative and Book Arts (CCIBA) in association with the Youngblood Arts and Culture Foundation, Mamba Media and PreZanian Comix. The event was held in conjunction with the Open Book Comics Fest.
